In 'NOISE', Club Gewalt asks: How do you retune your senses to a world that is getting louder and heavier? Can we accept that systems are collapsing without giving up our anger at injustice? Can we heal ourselves not just by naming the crises, but by feeling them deeply? Can we finally complete our stress cycles this way, allowing us to better navigate a world in flames? Can we fall in love with being human again? Is this the moment to look for God?
What begins as a seminar about overcoming an existential crisis slowly tips into a liberating storm of noise. An analogue synthesiser on wheels. A musical number about your baby falling off the sofa. Far too much language. Far too much feeling. Far too little hope. And then: hope. On the eve of the appocalypse, Club Gewalt sings, screams and prays its way through every stage, searching for a different turn. Because what if, in the midst of the noise, we learn to listen to something new?
Good to know

About the artist
Club Gewalt is a musical theatre collective from Rotterdam. Rooted in a disdain for injustice and a love of coming together, making, composing, producing and performing, they create their own work. Boulevard has known them for a long time: they previously appeared at the festival with their alter ego ‘Herr Hamsterfleisch' [2018 en 2021], 'Mini Miss Miraculous' [2022] en 'DEEP/END' [2024]. Their work is always virtuosic, musical, humorous and somehow unsettling. Club Gewalt is addicted to audiences and, on the eve of the apocalypse, sings their lungs out in an attempt to unlock an alternative timeline because it is in the unknown that the path to change is found.
"’NOISE’ is a fragmentary performance that goes from hyper-rational to emotional, from monologue to music. In layered compositions, vocals blend with electronic violence."
"We do not leave ‘NOISE’ feeling reassured. The polycrises rage on unabated. But you do have a somewhat better sense of what to do with them."
