In ‘L’instant T’ everything revolves around the Cyr wheel: a large metal ring in which circus artist Juan Ignacio Tula sets himself in motion. Tula takes you into the simplicity of spinning and rhythmic movement. He is accompanied by musician Marion Faure, who performs a live DJ set on vinyl, created entirely in the moment.

In ‘L’instant T’, Juan Ignacio Tula showcases his passion for the Cyr wheel. His starting point is a Dervish-like dance. A Dervish is an Islamic Sufi spiritual practitioner, someone who follows Sufism and believes in spiritual freedom and the renunciation of material possessions. Dervishes are known for their mystical dance ritual called Sema. During this ritual, they spin around their own axis in a trance in order to connect with the divine.

'L’instant T' takes the Dervish dance ritual as its starting point and enriches it with circus elements.

About the artist

Juan Ignacio Tula (AR) began his career with the MPTA–Mathurin Bolze company, where he created his first works. In 2019, he founded Compagnie7Bis in Lyon, a platform for his own creations as well as for collaboration between Europe and South America in the circus world. Since 2022, he has been an associate artist at the national circus venue Le Prato in Lille.
