With almost 200 Friends, we celebrated the opening of the 42nd edition of Theaterfestival Boulevard last week. We want to thank everyone who attended enormously for coming, it was a sun-drenched and festive evening.
Together we enjoyed four diverse previews. We listened to the heartfelt songs of Linde Schöne, were blown away by the dance moves of Arjuna Vermeulen, Guido van Moorselaar and Marchano Sarijoen, were swept away by the stories of Sahand Sahebdivani (Mezrab), and listened in wonder to Zoro Feigl's story about Klei.
Read more below about the previews and the performances at Boulevard. You'll also find a look back in photos.
Without the support of Friends, there would be no Theaterfestival Boulevard. Want to know more about this annual show of support?
Preview Tent Paars w/ Cypher HQ
Between Thu 6 and Sun 16 Aug, hip-hop centre Cypher HQ presents a unique mix of hip-hop, dance, break, rap, spoken word, dance jams, battles and more in Tent Paars. Expect the unexpected and dive into the multifaceted world of street culture. Check out the full street culture programme.

Preview Linde Schöne Is Mislukt
Honest, chaotic, gutsy and bubbly. That's Linde Schöne. In Linde Schöne Is Mislukt (Linde Schöne Has Failed), she brings her own story with sharp humour and music: about the leap from promising to bankrupt, and from bankrupt to what she herself calls 'optimistic nihilism'. A musical cabaret show that shows what failure looks like and what comes after.

Preview KLEI - Schweigman& i.s.m. Zoro Feigl en HIIIT
Schweigman& is a familiar face at Boulevard. The performances Eros [2022] and Binnenste Buiten [2024] (Inside Out) sold out every time. This summer the company returns with a landscape of ten tonnes of clay and five hundred litres of water. Klei (Clay) lets you feel what it's like to be part of something bigger than yourself. How vulnerable and powerful a body can be when it surrenders to the earth.

Preview Mezrab | The House of Stories - Nothing But Stories
Mezrab started small, in a little tea shop in the centre of Amsterdam. By now, the cultural centre draws audiences from all over the world. Last year, Mezrab appeared at Boulevard for the first time. This year they return with Nothing But Stories: a series of programmes, each with its own character. One time you'll hear stories that make you laugh, the next someone holds the room in complete silence. Come and listen to personal, mythical and intimate stories.
