Cheroney Pelupessy, worked with people from the local Indian and Moluccan community
Since 2019, there has been a connection with a representation of the Moluccan and Indian community in 's-Hertogenbosch. This resulted in the dance performance But First We are Going to Eat in 2023, led by choreographer Jija Sohn, as part of the European partnership Performing Gender: Dancing in your Shoes (DIYS).
The intensive collaboration has taught us and the participants a lot and that is why we will continue to work with this group from 2024. Together with choreographer Cheroney Pelupessy, whose research focuses on Dutch, Moluccan and Indonesian women, in particular the relationship between mothers and daughters. She is set up a process with the group that delivered a presentation in 2025 (Dansa Bersama), the year in which we commemorate and celebrate that 80 years ago, with the capitulation of Japan, the Second World War ended in the entire kingdom.

Guilherme Miotto / Corpo Máquina, worked with people from Den Bosch
In Mondo Perfetto, choreographer and Corpo Máquina's artistic director Guilherme Miotto investigated how our thinking influences movement and how movement shapes the mind.
In the simplicity of movement he looked for an entrance to share a layered reality with the audience. In the run-up to the premiere at our festival, dancers Guilherme and Julia and a classical percussionist - on the marimba - conducted an exploratory study with participants. Guilherme used music as a bridge to another dimension, of which you as participants became part. In Huis73 in 's-Hertogenbosch, the participants spent three afternoons listening, experiencing and playing the marimba, within a participatory context.
Visitors and fellow citizens were also welcome to participate during Boulevard: In the week of July 29, the company provided four free and open workshops.

Stichting Stadshout Den Bosch, works with the local community
Between the trees on the Parade you will find a small village of wooden houses. For a few years the Stichting Stadshout Den Bosch invited you to come and build. Under the guidance of professional carpenters, children saw and made furniture or toys. The little ones made small paintings on wood. Wood was used from fallen trees from the city. In 2025 the little houses became part of IK MAAK MEE, the new place for children and their caretakers to meet, play, follow workshops by artists and discover activities.
