Boulevard Affairs/Feminist School

Work, think and search with us during Boulevard Affairs. Via playful methods, question about art and society are researched.

In the festival’s heart, lurking through the reed you can find the most beautiful View of the Zuiderpark. For eleven days, workshops takes place here, Boulevard Affairs in which various organisations, artists, and participants work with questions about art and society.

The idea behind Boulevard Affairs: living together calls for questions. Boulevard does not run away from these question. On the contrary, in Boulevard Affairs these questions are creatively, thoroughly, playfully and unconventially addressed. They might be (the beginning of) an answer or solution.

At Theaterfestival Boulevard you come across a lot of different people: theatre lovers, artists, citizens, professionals, students, party people, and international guests. We want to use this opportunity to actively meet each other. During Boulevard Affairs we share, think and do together. Some visit Boulevard Affairs to purposefully work on a question, others listen during a workshop, participate in a conversation or create their vision for the future.

Parallel to the performance program, Boulevard will host the Feminist School, which will take place from 6 to 10 August. During these days, students and other interested parties and people can participate in an extensive programme of workshops, discussions, lectures and (film)screenings. The aim is to enable a practice-oriented exchange and discussions between the participants and artists of the apap network. The Feminist School is intended to be a place where people can learn from each other and an opportunity to encounter and engage in different concepts and experiences related to feminism. In addition, the Feminist School also creates time and space for reflection, discussion, doing nothing, celebrating and meeting in a relaxed environment.

Boulevard participates in the international network ‘apap’: a collection of European cultural organisations led by intersectional and feministic questions. In collaboration with apap and its makers we organise this Feminist School. More information about apap can be found on the webpage.

This project is part of the European programme apap – FEMINIST FUTURES, in the frame of Feminist Futures Festival.
A project co-funded by the Creative Europe Programme of the European Union.
