02 August 2023

During Theaterfestival Boulevard 2023, the festival organises and hosts the Closing Lab of the European project Performing Gender – Dancing in your shoes [2021 – 2023]. Sixteen European artists, partners, representatives and productions by the communities meet to present their work.

The Closing Lab
Between 2021 to 2023, 9 partners from 8 countries researched the engagement of audiences in artistic processes by facilitating a collaboration between choreographers and non-professional dancers from local communities to share stories of unheard voices through movement and dance.

The Closing Lab is the conclusion of the project and is organised by Boulevard in collaboration with the University of Bologna and other partners within this project. The three-day event, taking place from the 7th to the 9th of August, will provide an insight into the working processes of the communities, the results of the project and developed methods to enhance the collaboration between audiences and artistic processes.
