In ZWAANMEER, two players from hip-hop theater collective DIEHELEDING rappingly explore how the well-known love story in 2023 should be told. What does it mean to ask for mutual consent to in old-fashioned tutus? Will they manage to break free from the roles they have been dancing for decades? ZWAANMEER is a musical #metooballet in which the boundaries of physical intimacy are explored.

With ZWAANMEER, DIEHELEDING dives into the romantic ballet fairytale 'Swan Lake'. For years, ballet companies have danced this dramatic love story without saying a word; all through body language. DIEHELEDING finds body language irresponsible in the #metoo era. They opt for the safer spoken word. After centuries, Swan Princess Odette and Prince Siegfried get a voice to give verbal consent and break free from their decades-old gender roles. In the performance, the hip-hop theater collective raps through the fairy tale without jumping into each other's arms once.

ZWAANMEER is a humorous, raw hip-hop performance in which two players have to explore each other's physical limits while rapping to tell their story. A performance as an complaint of consentless fairy tales, which at the same time shows the gray area of intimacy in the arts.

For adults, also for kids from the age of 14 years old.
