Toddlers find everything 'WAUW'. Where adults see a toppled flowerpot as a nuisance, young children are fascinated by the worms crawling out of the soil. In the toddler performance 'WAUW!', BonteHond shows us just how colourful the world looks through a child’s eyes.

The adult world is often black and white, while children see much more colour. This performance reveals how the seemingly ordinary – or even bothersome – can actually be exciting, surprising and beautiful. The 'WAUW' factor is almost always there, if only we look closely enough.

About the artists
BonteHond is a Dutch theatre company creating performances for young audiences. Their work always playfully challenges reality and defies categorisation. Since their ‘birth’ in 2005, they have grown significantly, performing everywhere from Almere to Bangalore – in theatres and football canteens, at summer festivals and busy schools.

With a strong connection to their audience and surroundings, and through their own educational approach KIDD, BonteHond also reaches people who may not easily come into contact with art and culture. Their work encourages broad, independent thinking. Be yourself. Don’t let anyone box you in. At BonteHond, “childish” is not an insult.

  • Right after the performance, there’s an interactive programme led by the performers and dancers of ‘WAUW!’. They invite the entire audience to create their own WAUW world.

"The performers have a great chemistry. It shines through in how they engage with the paper worlds they build together, and in their funny, imaginative dialogues."
