The dance performance 'TIME' takes you on a journey through the urge, the attempt and the necessity to accept what we call ‘time’. What does time mean? How do we relate to it as human beings? Do memories have an expiration date? Is there such a thing as a perfect timeline? When do we do it right? Is time freeing or limiting? Is time a friend or a foe? Does time even exist?
The foundation of 'TIME' is the dance style Waacking: a form that originated in the 1970s in Los Angeles, where the Latino and African-American LGBTQ+ community gathered in underground clubs. Today, Waacking is growing in popularity and is danced and lived all over the world. The style appears on stages, in commercials, theatres, music videos – and still thrives in the clubs where the community meets.
For 'TIME', dancer, choreographer and teacher Nina Dumoulin worked with a powerful cast of Dutch Waacking dancers.

About the artist
Nina Dumoulin is a dancer, choreographer and teacher, born in Maastricht and currently based in Utrecht. She is an all-round urban dancer, specialised in Waacking. Over the past years she has trained, performed and competed in many places across Europe. Highlights include dancing on the MainStage of Tomorrowland, choreographing for Koninklijke Harmonie Phileutonia, organising the Waacking battle at The Notorious IBE and winning showcase categories at Werk the Floor in London and Waack It Out in Italy. 'TIME' is her first full-length theatre performance.
