Mezrab started small in a tea shop in the centre of Amsterdam. Today, the cultural centre draws audiences from all over the world. Last year, Mezrab appeared at Boulevard for the first time. This year they return with 'Nothing But Stories', a series of programmes each with its own character. One evening you will hear stories that make you laugh; the next, someone keeps the entire room in complete silence. Come and listen to personal, mythical and intimate stories.

What does it feel like to hang on every word of a storyteller without the distraction of sets, costumes or lighting simply because the story has you in its grip? The storytellers of Mezrab invite you to an evening filled with stories that each open a different door. About saying goodbye, or about what has long remained hidden and finally comes to light. About lies, silences and revelations. Stories from Brabant to the far corners of the world.

For over twenty years, Mezrab has been creating a space where those stories are heard. A space without distractions from sets, costumes or lighting. Just people, words and a room that listens. That simplicity is precisely where the power lies. With 'Nothing But Stories', Mezrab brings stories that feel close to you, told by people who know what they are doing.

A visitor last year said: "Mezrab is like a really good book, where at one in the morning you think: just one more page, and then I will really stop. You get completely drawn into the stories and feel as though you have stepped into another world for a while."

Good to know

  • On Friday 7 and Friday 14 August, the stories will be in (accessible) English. On the other days, the stories will be in Dutch.
