The story is structured as a palindrome, like a word that can be read in both directions. Literally, palin means "again" and dromos means "running." In ‘NERGENS’, the characters move between memory and dream, between changing and staying, always arriving back at the same point: an in-between space where absence becomes visible.
‘NERGENS’ is an invitation to pause and reflect on what connects us and what you miss when contact is absent.
The performance premieres on Thursday, 6 August at Boulevard.
Good to know

- You experience ‘NERGENS’ through an individual VR headset, in a group with other visitors, seated on a stool in a sheltered environment.
- Your coat and bag will be kept safely outside the space. You do not take them into the performance.
About the artist
Schippers&VanGucht is the name of the creative duo Jellie Schippers (theatre-maker and director) and Myriam van Gucht (theatre-maker and scenographer). Based in Breda, they create work at the intersection of installation, film and performance, with meeting, experience and connection at its core. They have been a familiar presence at Boulevard for years with their distinctive works, including ‘TussenTijdCapsule' [2021], 'De Volle Vuilkar' [2022], 'ODE' [2023] en 'EENIEDEREEN' [2024].
