Répliques

Le Grand Jeté! | FR

Répliques (Replicas) is a duet between dance and acrobatics around an original decor, consisting of two motorised cubes moving on a circular track. The two performers mirror each other, revealing the unspoken language of movement transmission.

Location Zuiderpark/Parkpodium
Running time 35 min.
Genre Dance, Circus

In Répliques, the two performers face each other, both on a platform, with the audience surrounding them. As if they were each other's mirror image, the performers look at each other, see each other, imitate each other, react to each other. The interplay makes your senses come fully on edge.

This scenography in its entirety revolves around the theme: the precise copying of gesture. The concept of transmission is a palpable aspect in this work. In addition, it is mainly about the balance in which the performers play, have fun and find each other. It is a struggle between two men whose ingenuity and creativity will bring them closer together to eventually move forward together.

In this work, you will find a joyful and playful quest to push boundaries.

Le grand jeté! was founded in June 2002 and is based in Cluny, southern Burgundy. The company carries the work of choreographer Frédéric Cellé, who develops his universe around acrobatics, combining contemporary dance with a sensitive exploration of acrobatics.

Répliques van Le grand jeté will have its Dutch premiere at Saturday the 12th of August at 21:30h.
