Euhm…in vijf bedrijven

Doubt, hesitation, uncertainty. Theatre maker Elias De Bruyne could fill the universe with it. Well, a city. Or euhm, a show. Because let's keep it small. The maker is currently working on his theater solo Euhm... in vijf bedrijven. 

Boulevard visited one of his rehearsals:
Haydn's album Die Jahreszeiten is on the table. Vivaldi's The Four Seasons are also not far away. “The seasons are my opponents,” says Elias, an expert on their cycles – he used to be a gardener. Their unruffled appearances and disappearances are at odds with his own uncertainty. Because Elias is not a leaf blower, he prefers to rake question marks together. However, he regularly longs for a clean slate. “Ehm… in vijf bedrijven is a new big bang, but slightly different.” Absurdism is inescapable close by in this moving and poetic solo. “It could be that I become a plant. But nothing is certain.”    

Elias De Bruyne has been working with PLAN Talent Development Brabant since 2021. Euhm… is the third and final solo performance which Elias de Bruyne makes for PLAN Brabant. 

This performance uses smoke.
