For the first time in its thirty-two year existence, Theatre Artemis is venturing into dance. A perilous undertaking?
Artemis admits it in advance. Grif, ruefully: "It is a dance performance of which we are a little ashamed. We will therefore try to restrain ourselves as much as possible. But that will not be easy. Because Les Trucs provides rousing beats, there is a flashy lighting plan and the outfits are downright gorgeous. Before you know it, a sneaky dance move is quickly made. But Artemis does not stink! There will be no dancing. Really, word of honour. Artistic director Jetse Batelaan makes transverse, uncomfortable, delightful, slightly philosophical, absurdist, hilarious theatre. Did we forget an adjective? Yes: masterly.
