Shishani [1988] was born in Windhoek. What's in a name: she sings from rustling softly to beyond force eight, giving voice to unheard voices.

Location BLVRD Theater aan de Parade
Running time 60 min.

She is the founder, singer and songwriter of Miss Catharsis [2019], a unique foursome that puts women and non-binary people of colour at the centre. What are they winning so many awards with? We quote, "Cutting edge songs with a bad-ass stage presence." What's more, they get support from Tiga Batang Rumah, a group of three Moluccan tifa drummers. It fits Shisani's self-imposed mission: to give voice and sound to unheard or underheard stories from Asia, Africa and Europe, three continents that share colonial and cultural heritage. In Namibian, Shishani means 'crown'. Those who hear her voice and lyrics will understand why.
