In 'GAP of 42', the difference between two performers takes centre stage. Chris and Iris differ by 42 centimetres in height and 42 kilos in weight. What might be an obstacle for others, becomes a source of new possibilities for this duo. They balance, lift, leap and catch each other with precision, trust and playful ease.
This contemporary circus performance blends dance, theatre and object manipulation. 'GAP of 42' shows that differences can be overcome – not by erasing them, but by embracing them.
About the artists
Chris and Iris both studied at the Academy for Circus and Performance Art in Tilburg. They have worked with renowned companies such as Cirque Éloize (CA) and Cirkus Cirkör (SE), and received several awards – including a silver medal at the Festival Mondial du Cirque de Demain in Paris. 'GAP of 42' has already been performed over 180 times in 12 different countries.
