Founders Max Ravanello [IT] and Mike Onyango [KE] met in the vibrant music scene of Rotterdam. Around them grew an international collective of musicians from Hungary, Portugal, Mexico and the Netherlands. The line-up: two trombones, a trumpet, guitar, bass, drums and a harmonica.
What makes Banda Matatu unique is their seamless fusion of styles. Afrobeat, chakacha, afrojazz and Caribbean rhythms flow together into an infectious and colourful whole. The result? A high-energy concert that gets you dancing.
