Theaterfestival Boulevard welcomes three new members to the Supervisory Board

As of 1 September 2026, the Supervisory Board of Theaterfestival Boulevard and Bosse Nova will be strengthened by the appointment of three new members. Mike van der Geld (Chair), Govert Schermers, and Ruud van Meijel will join Charelle Akihary-Lammers, Lian Duif, Ricardo Burgzorg, and Jeroen Mathot on the Board.

About Mike van der Geld

Mike van der Geld was born and raised in ’s-Hertogenbosch and served for more than seven years as Alderman for Culture in the municipality. In addition, he has extensive professional experience working with municipalities as a consultant and strategic advisor. Most recently, he was involved as a coalition negotiator (formateur) for the municipality of Valkenswaard. He is currently employed as Director of Spatial Development and Economy for the municipality of Oss.

About Govert Schermers

Govert Schermers is originally from ’s-Hertogenbosch. In his professional life, he works as an interim manager in business operations and public administration, supporting municipalities and inter-municipal organisations. In addition, he serves as a member of the Supervisory Board of the Dutch Nature and Environmental Federations, is a member of two municipal audit committees (including that of ’s-Hertogenbosch), and chairs the Audit Committee of the Aa and Maas Water Authority.

Between 2002 and 2015, he was a member of the Municipal Council of ’s-Hertogenbosch, where his portfolio included finance, economic affairs, and recreation & tourism.

About Ruud van Meijel

Ruud van Meijel has served as Managing Director of Chassé Theater in Breda since 2019. He brings extensive leadership and governance experience within the cultural sector and previously held positions including Business Director of Theater Oostpool, as well as Director and Founder of Zeeland Nazomerfestival and Theaterproductiehuis Zeeland.

With his broad expertise in culture, entrepreneurship, and community engagement, he contributes to the continued development of Bosse Nova and Theaterfestival Boulevard, and strengthening the connection between the arts, audiences, and society.

He studied Business Administration at Radboud University and is a certified wine connoisseur (vinologist).
