Mission and vision
“What always stays adamant in Boulevard is the yearning to celebrate. At the festival you celebrate life, friendship, happiness and other lotteries in life. Above all, you celebrate art, culture and the freedom to enjoy these. You can do that on your own, but the 35 festivals have illustrated that it is even nicer to do this together. From preaching to reaching out: it’s one small step for Boulevard, a giant leap for many others. The key is believing in the benefit of collectiveness.”
Mission statement
Theaterfestival Boulevard believes in the power of art to connect people. We focus on encounters between people, stories and worlds.
Every summer, Theaterfestival Boulevard presents an international performing arts festival across multiple locations in 's-Hertogenbosch. We welcome our audiences in theatres, on squares, in tents, at the bar and at unique outdoor venues.
Boulevard programmes visually rich productions that stimulate the senses. Diverse encounters in the performing arts. The core of the programme consists of work from the Netherlands and Flanders, complemented by sustainable international collaborations.
Vision
Art belongs at the heart of society. It offers perspective, opens new insights and makes you feel, think and decide differently.
Boulevard makes you aware that you are part of a multi-voiced society. Polyphony is not a slogan, but a practice: we programme from a genuine curiosity about the many ways in which people experience the world. We let the artists speak.
In the coming years, we will actively work towards a broader and more accessible festival. Our relationships with our various audience groups, our artists and partners receive our special attention.
