Teresa Noronha Feio/Elodie Morard - 'The Absurd is Divine' (nomination 'Entreeprijs')
Could it all be down to his two aunts and mad grandmother? Because he never got married and has never had a sexual relationship in his life, with the exception of some platonic fumblings with his secretary? His isolation, his alcoholism? We will never get to find out. The fact is that Portuguese poet Fernando Pessoa (1888-1935) had some very strange ideas about women. For their new production 'Absurd is Divine', choreographers/dancers Elodie Morard and Teresa Noronha Feio took a famous quotation by the Portuguese poet as their guide: 'Because I am the size of what I see and not the size of my height'.

Bert Vogels/Joost van Balkom - Humming Birds - Dutch première
Humming Birds is a continuous, overtone concert at the top of the St. Jans tower. Twenty-eight 'mechatronic hummingbirds' will tap against the traditional bells, making these 'hum' and producing overtones. The hummingbirds are activated using lifting magnets; their movements and sounds mean that they resemble hummingbirds collecting nectar from the bells (flowers).
Twice a day, city carilloneur Joost van Balkom will provide a live concert with his 'birds'.

Storybox ft. Marlijn Weerdenburg
Storybox came about in 2006 during the production of 'Vernon God Little' at Huis aan de Amstel; the collaboration was pleasant, the rousing, atmospheric songs proved popular. An album ('A Fool's Attempt'), a club tour and performances at Crossing Border, Noorderslag, the Uitmarkt and on TV programme De Wereld Draait Door followed. Big names such as Calexico, Ilse DeLange and Pete Murray asked Storybox to support them. Then there was last year's 'You Can Be Replaced': an album of eleven unforgettable songs.
